Community Service & Activism
Sherrice orchestrated a unique opportunity for her scholars to participate in a community-based school trip to JCCA - Foster Home Services on December 12th, 2023. She carefully hand selected specific scholars to join her on her trip. This trip had a dual purpose: to instill compassion and empathy while providing tangible benefits to both her scholars and the community.
|
Purposeful Activities:
1. Emotional Well-being: Scholars will engage in activities that promote emotional health and resilience. Through interactive sessions like crafting and storytelling, they will develop skills to manage emotions positively. 2. Social Connection: The trip provides an opportunity for scholars to connect with others in a meaningful way. Social health is a crucial aspect of overall well-being, and this experience will encourage positive interactions and teamwork. How Her School Will Benefit: 1. Holistic Education: By incorporating emotional and social well-being into the trip, we reinforce our commitment to providing a holistic education. This approach recognizes the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, and social aspects of health. 2. Life Skills Development: Scholars will gain valuable life skills that extend beyond the classroom. This trip will aim to enhance their interpersonal skills, resilience, and ability to navigate social situations effectively. 3. Positive Impact on Community: While the primary focus is on our scholars’ well-being, the positive impact of this trip extends to the broader community. A community that prioritizes emotional and social health contributes to a more supportive and nurturing environment. |
